Six Weeks Old - Perth F1 Groodles
Six weeks old and doing so well! Today they had their vet checkups and vaccinations right on six weeks of age. Microchips are all done and they all passed their vet check with flying colours.
After spending a lot of last weekend with meet and greets we are down to our last few puppies. But with lined up meet and greets for the coming days I am sure will see them all having their furever homes ready to go in just two weeks time. The remaining puppies will be homed on a first in first pick basis so potentially it isn’t too late depending on when you can come for a meet and greet.
They have started to sleep through the night now waking around 6am for a feed. This will hopefully push out to later the older the puppies get but like in all litters there are usually those who like to sleep more than others so when one wakes up they like to wake the others for playtime! lol So always fun and games.
They have been getting used to the other areas of the house this week which has been great for their confidence and it has been so super cute watching as they learn how to do zoomies! They tuck their little bottom under and run around so fast they struggle to have control of their actions. It is so cute to see them learn new things and explore.
We also introduced the snuffle mat this week. Snuffle mats are fantastic to help stimulate puppies and dogs alike. Some think that with big dogs it is all about lots of exercise which of course is important. However, having things to help stimulate their brains helps create calmer. happier dogs and puppies. This week they will also be introduced to the puzzle which we get for ‘advanced’ or ‘hard’ and they usually figure it out in 2 minutes! lol So shows how incredibly smart they are.
They also moved forward with training this week and most are now starting to sit and give paw. They tend to learn quicker one on one which is always hard with big litters however as they learn so quickly, they are all sitting and giving paw before they leave for their families at 8 weeks.
Spending just 5-10 minutes a day going over training with them and being consistant is so important when they leave. Being smart dogs they learn so quick but also will pick up bad habits if they feel they are being ‘rewarded’ for it. Such as jumping. Knowing they will be big dogs, it is extremely important that this behaviour is not met with pats and cuddles as puppies, otherwise before you know it they are 30kg puppies and think to get cuddles they need to jump up. So setting these clear boundaries in the beginning is so important.
This week you can find each puppy rundown on the available puppy page, which you can find by heading HERE. An updated gallery for each puppy can be found below :)
Be sure to check out our Blog on our application and selection process for a rundown on how we are currently doing things.
Litter group photos from last weekend 5 weeks and 3 days old. We always allow some play time all together to wear them out before we even consider a group photo.
