One Week Check In
So a week has passed already and wow have the puppies grown. After a strong start, poor Mumma developed a cough after a few days which can be a breeder’s worst nightmare. Obviously, it can be quite dangerous for such young puppies so are being monitored 24/7 with us keeping in contact with our vet who is amazing at guiding us through. It has left Mumma exhausted and lowered her appetite which resulted in her struggling to produce enough milk. So for a few days, we have been supplementing the puppies to help her out so she can get more rest. Which has helped and she seems to be doing much better after more rest and time.
So despite a few hectic days and nights, the pups are showing little signs and gaining weight and strength rapidly with all the boys already ticking over the 1kg mark. They sure are little chunky puppies! Their coats are growing as quickly as they are and some beautiful colouring and markings are really starting to show. Little Freya who was our smallest took a little longer to start gaining but after adding in some supplement feeds she is thriving and is such a sweet little thing.
We are excited to see what the next week brings as we should start to see eyes and ears open over the next week.

Have you applied for one of our Puppies? Or would like to Apply?
Although we think that we have more than enough families for the current litter which will be confirmed in the coming weeks, feel free to apply in case something happens and one becomes available. Circumstances can change.
The few weeks will get us past the riskiest time for puppies especially since Mumma has been unwell. As we are small ethical family breeders, we do not take deposits on puppies until we are certain that we have one perfect for you and your family because we can never be certain when our next litter will be.
As puppies will be due to go to their homes just before Christmas we will be ensuring that all families are well suited and not just a ‘gift’. We also make sure that new owners are aware of the expected size of them as fully grown dogs and ensure that they are prepared to adequately train them. Remember these are standard Groodles, not mini so training is extremely important. See past litter details here to get an idea of the expected size as parents are the same.
Like our first litter, we encourage anyone who ‘needs’ non-shedding, hypoallergenic dogs to think about a fully hypoallergenic dog (like a poodle) as there is no way we can 100% guarantee what coats will be when fully grown as they change so much in the first 12 months and this is when they will get their full adult coat.
Viewings will take place from four weeks of age at this stage once they are past the riskiest weeks. In order of those who contacted us earliest which we are currently working out.
We aren’t expecting to have any F1 litters in the near future however we will be looking at breeding Franki & Ivy for an F1b Litter for those wanting more hypo-allergenic dogs and also an F2 litter if we can find a suitable male.
